Early Life
My name is Diwakar, and I’m from Katmandu, Nepal. Growing up my parents owned a lot of land that they rented to other people which allowed us to live a fairly privileged life. In Nepal there are two types of schools, one that is provided by the government and ones that are private. My family was able to afford for me to go to private school. In private school unlike the public schools you primarily speak English, in fact all of your classes are done in English with the exception being when you take a Nepali class. Because of this I able to learn how to speak and understand English very well.
Growing up I would watch American movies all the time, Tom Cruise was my favorite actor. It was these films that always made me want to be an actor. In fact when I was young I even did acted on a few episodes of a local show that aired on the National Television. It was my dream to one day move to America and become an actor. Watching movies was not all I did, growing up in Nepal you have so many outdoors activities that you are able to do. We have the Himalayas right there in our back yard. Growing up I would always think that the tallest mountain I could see from the range was Mount Everest, it wasn’t until I was leaving one day by airplane when we swung around the Himalayas that I actually saw Mount Everest.
Nepal is a completely land locked country. To its south is India and to its north is China. While it was never actually colonized by Great Britain like its neighbor to the south. It has however, gotten a large deal of influence from Britain through its close ties India.
Nepal is home to 8 of the 10 highest mountains in the world. Including the tallest mountain Mount Everest. It also is home of the deepest gorge in the world. While this is largely debated, due to it being tied to a mountain range and likely not tied to erosion. This gorge measures around 18,800 ft in depth with Mount Everest measuring 29,000 ft in height.
